Income statement:
Income in the past year: Donations $4505 and Sold 3 plots in Phase 2 for $900
Below is a list of things we spent money on over the past year, in addition to paying the groundskeeper, Trevor, for mowing.
We hired Trevor to do some clearing of the fence lines this year – stop by and let him know how much you appreciate the wonderful job he has done. give him a hand he has done a wonderful of keeping our cemetery beautiful.
Sign over entrance gate was approved at last year’s meeting and installed for $1600.
Pavilion was painted but not approved for final payment. Still holding $900 and paid $900.
Ants – Put out ant killer
Grass killer – spraying grass on road and keeping markers cleared of grass so they don’t get buried.
Safety Deposit Box and PO Box have annual expenses
Cleaned headstones – Headstones were sprayed with Wet & Forget once this year for maintenance.
Things we are considering this year:
Pavilion. Thinking about putting a surface underneath. One estimate so far to get an idea of cost – Gravel base $2900 crushed asphalt $3200. Does anyone have experience with either of these or with concrete? Haven’t got a concrete estimate. Larry said concrete is a bad idea. Motion made by Tina Wilcox and Jackie Chavez second if we raise enough money this year.
Straighten headstones – Would like to work on straightening the small leaning headstones. Equipment would be a couple of hundred dollars plus gravel and sand for each one. Trevor and I will do a few then we could turn him loose working on them during the non-mowing winter months and let him knock out however many he can in a day each month. (Slate bar or bent end chisel bar 1 inch thick and 60 inches American steel will not bend needs point on one end and slightly bent on the other Walmart $51.59, and flat nose spade shovel $33 Home Depot, wood for prying, level Harbor Freight $7, gravel and sand, 4 buckets, sprayer for water which we have but we will need to buy water. Supplies shouldn’t cost more than $200 plus sand and gravel. Larry offered to let us borrow his pry bar but we are going to buy one. Motion made by Judy and Tina Wilcox second to purchase the tools and pay Trevor in the off months to straighten headstones.
Other items:
If you already have a plot, that isn’t part of a double headstone, let us know so we can prepare a deed for you of needed.
Cows were in the cemetery so we are now closing gate.
Members are welcome to use pavilion, and tables and chairs, for graveside service or for after service. Will need to rent port a potty.
For those of you who use the internet, remember we have a website and email. Website has plot and list of those buried here with a link to their Find A Grave page if they have one.
Judy LeRoy blessed the food and everyone had lunch.
